I had the pleasure of watching the 2008 Ohio State IDPA Championship held at Pickaway County Sportsmen Inc. in Circleville, OH.  One hundred twenty one shooters (including eleven ladies) from twelve states took to the range.  They shot their way through eight different scenarios, each based on a realistic premise. Shooters must keep behind cover and engage threat targets while keeping the lead away from the non threats.

The time is upon us for fall bullseye leagues.  Here are the ones I know about.  If you know of any more, don’t hesitate to let me know.

Powder Room

• Cost is $85.00, includes range time and targets
• Begins Wednesday September 3rd
• Shooting is every Wednesday at 6:00 PM
• This league will be .22 rimfire and centerfire combined, your choice
• The Powder Room is located at 2470 State Route 750 in Powell.

Black Wing Shooting Center

• Cost is $85.00, couples $160.00, shoot twice for $160.00
• Begins Thursday September 4th
• Shooting is Wednesday at 6:00 PM
• Mixed caliber league

All Ohio Subgun Match
Date: September 13, 2008, 10:00 AM 
Location: Tusco Rifle Club
2140 Midvale Mine Rd. S. E. 
Dennison, OH 44621

Description: Entry will be $10 per class. Vintage, Modern and Open classes for subguns. Carbine class for semi-auto pistol caliber carbines. Targets will be steel plates and water bottles. One stage will be from a moving vehicle. The shoot will begin around 10:00. Chamber flags, eye protection and hearing protection are required at all times. The usual steel plate fun shoot will be Sunday the 14th for anyone staying over.
